Deadline: July 11, 11:59 pm PST
About the Fund
Blue Future’s Youth Power Fund is a first of its kind grant and fellowship opportunity for progressive student organizers. The goal of the Fund is to support student organizers with direct funding and community organizing training to unleash campus engagement in key Congressional districts around the country.
How can I learn more?
Folks are invited to learn more about our vision and the types of projects we’d like to fund on our informational webinars. We’ll host three webinars:
June 20 at 9:00 pm EST | June 25 at 9:00 pm EST | June 28 at 9:00 pm EST
This introductory session will cover how to apply for the grant, and a discussion of the organizing plans we would like to support.
Please RSVP for the webinar through this link: bit.ly/youthpowerfundwebinar
Who can apply?
Any young person (ages 16-25) who supports progressive values and is ready to organize to help Democrats win at the Congressional level in 2018 is invited to apply! We’re looking for young people who are ready to work directly with candidates and campaigns to mobilize the youth vote on their campus and community.
What is the application process?
We have a 3-step application process:
- Students are invited to submit a Project Summary through this link: bit.ly/youthpowerfundapp
- Applications are due by July 11 at 11:59 pm PST.
- After reviewing the Project Summaries, we will invite applicants to interview with our team between July 16-July 20 (so please have flexibility during those dates!)
- We will accept our first round of fellows on July 24 and then work closely with them to create comprehensive campus engagement plans. A sample plan can be found here.
How much funding can I receive?
We can fund up to $3,000 dollars per school/Congressional district.
Our vision is to pay a $1,000 stipend to compensate one student organizer for the Fall semester, and $2,000 will be allocated for volunteer mobilization support like transportation and lodging into a key district, texting programs, food/snacks at weekly phone banks promotional materials, etc.
However, you know what works best for your school and community. So we are open to alternative budget proposals. Budgets are a key component of the Project Summary application.
